Birthday Thanks!

Thank you for all of the e-cards and well wishes for my birthday.

It was a very happy birthday indeed! My Sweet Benny took 2 vacation days so we could spend 4 wonderful days together!

I was gifted with tanzanite and diamond ear rings, and a book I had been wanting. I was wined and dined and we danced the evening away.

When we came home, my daughter and daughter-in-law gave me the coolest birthday cake ever! It was yellow cake on the bottom, a middle layer of brownie, and yellow cake on top, with fudge icing between the layers and covered in fudge icing! They said it looked like a giant hamburger before they iced it.

The best part came when it was time to blow out my candles. I realized that, maybe for the first time ever, I had nothing to wish for.

Then on Sunday, Benny and I went to the American Legion Christmas party. We took friends we hadn't seen in quite awhile. It was a fun time. My two oldest sons have decided to join the Sons of the Legion. Free food and cheap booze, who could resist? DS2 will only be able to enjoy the food and formalities for now. He's my most patriotic child, so he doesn't mind.

This year I am only knitting very small Christmas gifts. I'll be finished tomorrow. I'm usually really stressed by now trying to finish projects.

Kaity and I are going to bake several gifts. I want to try Curlypurl's friend Anna's biscotti I have some special candy recipes I like to make for gifts too.
