Just call me Grandma!!!!

My second son and the love of his life told us on Tuesday they are having a baby. While some may only see the problems ahead for two 17 year olds having a baby, when Benny and I witness the love they have for each other, we can't help but be happy too.

Just look at this beautiful bean sized child

It is already obviously apparent that this will be the most intelligent, most beautiful, most charming, and most loving Grandchild ever born!

The best part of the Ultrasound day was watching the two of them. As they held onto each other, with tears streaming down their cheeks, they gazed at the pictures of their "little bean", and fell head over heels in love with their baby!

Meet Barney

Barney is Jonathan's new little 8 week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I think we're really going to enjoy him.

Justin got Sarah a little Australian Silky Terrier last week. She named her Kiwi. Kiwi stayed here for 4 days and we all fell in love with her.

My mom is out of the hospital today, after having a knee replacement. She did really well. I knit in the waiting room during her surgery, and fell asleep. I was emabarassed. But the volunteer in the waiting room is a knitter too. She said knitting relaxes and makes her fall asleep, just like if she was being rocked.

Sunday evening blather

Thank you for the kind words regarding our family and the storm. Everyone has been accounted for now. All are safe. That's the important part.

In other news....

Would someone please tell me why anyone would paper their walls, paint over the wallpaper, wallpaper on top, and paint some more? Restoration and renovation continue at Casa deDoula. The current process is Kaity's room. I thought painted over wallpaper removal was difficult in our first floor bathroom. But that room is only about 30 years old. It didn't have time to accumulate as many layers as Kaity's room, where apparently the paint, wallpaper, paint cycle happened from 1920 until we bought it in 1995.

Kaity is a trooper. She is working harder than the rest of us. She really wants her new dolphin decorated bedroom.

This is a messy process mess.JPG
I'm taking lots of pictures along the way. I want to make a photo journal of all that we do.

There aren't any fibery pictures to show. I'm still knitting Kaity's sweater and spinning the Brenda fleece. It's so relaxing at the end of the day. The sweater may be finished soon. My mother is having her knee replaced on Thursday. Circus begins in earnest this week also. So there will be lots of knitting time for me.
