Knitting Tip of the Day

So I was talking with my friend in Arizona a while back about knitting. We both find weaving in the ends of the yarn to be tedious and boring.

She had come across a new to her way to end one skein and begin the next, called a Russian Join.

I tried it last night on Kaity's sweater. It's terrific! It is really strong, virtually unnoticeable, and when the sweater is complete there will be No Ends to Weave!!!!

Comments

If you wet the ends of the russian join and work them a bit (provided you're using wool) it'll felt them together a bit and make the join even stronger.

That is so cool. I will try it the next time, since there is nothing worse than finishing a sweater, and it not really being finished!

Thanks for the excellant link!

I'm here b/c I noticed in one of your comments to Katy that you have CP - my 5 year old son has CP - so I'm simply touching base! Cheers - Sara
