The Beginning
Welcome to my blog!
I am a spinner, knitter, weaver, and doula in Southern Ohio. I have a wonderful husband and 4 terrific kids.
I cast on today for my first square of The Great American Aran Afghan The book and wool were a Christmas gift from my husband. I'm starting out with Ginette Belanger's square. It is listed as being one of the 5 easiest squares. I don't have much experience with knitting cables so I'm playing it safe.

Hi Angi! Glad to see that everything is working.
I highly recommend Wendy's directions for cabling without a needle. I did a bunch of cables on a practice swatch until I had the technique and have used it ever since. It makes cabling so much easier (and much less of a hassle).

Yay, another spatterdash hostee! I was just looking at an advertisement for the aran afghan book last night. Mighty tempted. Love the sweater square!

Love the idea of the sweaters for you and Kaity.
I also think the blog design is great.
You should write about your knitting needles. I really think I can do the scarf with those needles
Hugs
