Afghan from Hell?
The Great American Aran Afghan has all the elements of becoming The Afghan from Hell and I've barely begun. I had planned to start with the Ginette Belanger square because it's listed as one of the easiest. Note to self: Don't cast on for a new project when everyone in the house is tired and cranky! I couldn't wrap my brain around the repeats in chart A.
Yesterday, I decided to begin the Ann Strong pomegranate square instead. It's coming along nicely. I'll post a pic soon. I've quickly realized why the knit alongs for this afghan are only knitting 1 square a month!
I need to spend some time this afternoon writing a birth story for a birth I attended last week.

The Beginning
Welcome to my blog!
I am a spinner, knitter, weaver, and doula in Southern Ohio. I have a wonderful husband and 4 terrific kids.
I cast on today for my first square of The Great American Aran Afghan The book and wool were a Christmas gift from my husband. I'm starting out with Ginette Belanger's square. It is listed as being one of the 5 easiest squares. I don't have much experience with knitting cables so I'm playing it safe.
